Iranian artists shine at Paralym Art World Cup in Japan

Physically impaired Iranian artists Marzieh Houshmand, Ali Bahrami and Marzieh Baqeri have succeeded to grab the top prizes of the 3rd Paralym Art World Cup 2021 in Tokyo.

Physically impaired Iranian artists Marzieh Houshmand, Ali Bahrami and Marzieh Baqeri have succeeded to grab the top prizes of the 3rd Paralym Art World Cup 2021 in Tokyo.

Marzieh Houshmand from Iran's Garmsar stood first with her art work 'World Smile' and received a cash prize while Ali Bahrami from Hashtgerd and Marzieh Baqeri from Qazvin were respectively honored with the jury prize and the Paralym Art Award of the gala.

In 2020, Mehrnaz Bahrami, a disabled Iranian woman, was honored with the second award of the festival by presenting a work entitled ‘Peace Within’ and received a cash prize of 50,000 yen.

This year, artists from 40 countries, including Iran, attended the 3rd Paralym Art World Cup which was held with the theme of "SMILE."

The ceremony was attended by Iran's cultural attache in Japan, a member of the Japanese parliament, a group of artists and representatives of participating countries, institutions, and sponsors and several selected artists from Japan.

The Paralym Art World Cup is an international competition for artists with disabilities to shine.

Each year, the event has a different theme and welcomes entries from all over the world.
